Windows XP and Office 2003 Keyboard Shortcuts

The Objects bar and Object list enable you to move quickly from one item to another in Access.

Shortcuts for Navigating in the Objects Bar and Object List

Select the next item in the Objects bar

[Ctrl] - [Tab]

Select the previous item in the Objects bar

[Ctrl] - [Shift] - [Tab]

Move the selection up one line

[ ‘ ]

Move the selection down one line

[ “ ]

Move the selection up one window

[PageUp]

Move the selection down one window

[PageDown]

Move to the first object in the list

[Home]

Move to the last object in the list

[End]

Open or run the selected object

[Enter]

The effect of pressing [Enter] depends on the type of object you ve selected. Pressing [Enter] :

Open the selected object

[Alt] - [O]

This shortcut opens a table or query in Datasheet view, and opens a form in Form view.

Create a new object of the selected type

[Alt] - [N]

Select the category of object in the Objects bar, and then press [Alt] - [N] to start creating a new object of that type. For example, select Reports in the Objects bar, and press [Alt] - [N] to display the New Report dialog box for creating a new report.

Open the selected object in Design view

[Ctrl] - [Enter] , [Alt] - [D]

These shortcuts work for tables, forms, queries, reports, data access pages, macros, and modules.
