16.3. Accepting and Rejecting Changes You may or may not agree with some of the changes other people make in your meticulously crafted text. In any case, you should review each edit to make sure the document is getting better, not worse . Word makes reviewing changes a quick and easy process. Here's the step-by-step procedure for reviewing the changes and edits in your document: -
Move the insertion point to the beginning of your document by pressing Ctrl+Home . Most of the time, you want to start at the very beginning of your document to make sure you don't miss any of the changes. -
Choose a view, either Print Layout or Draft . You see changes and comments in all of Word's five views except for Full Screen Reading. It's easiest to work in either Page Layout or Draft view. | Figure 16-9. The option to print edits and markup is tucked away in the lower-left corner of the Print dialog box. You can choose to print the document with the markup showing, or you can choose to print just a list of the edits and comments. | | -
Go to Review Tracking Display for Review, and choose one of the options that displays markup . For example, choose Final Showing Markup to see the most recent changes, or choose Original Showing Markup to see all the changes. -
Go to Review Tracking Show Markup Reviewers to choose the reviewers whose changes you want to see . A menu appears, listing the reviewers who have commented on or edited your document. When you place checkmarks next to the names of reviewers, their edits show in your document. -
Click the Review Changes group on the ribbon, and then click the Next button. Then click the appropriate button to accept or reject the change (Figure 16-10) . Repeat, reviewing all the edits until you reach the end of your document. |
