OpenOffice.Org 1.0 Resource Kit
You can open Impress files as well as those in formats by other vendors , such as PowerPoint. Not only can you open a Powerpoint file in Impress, but you can save it again as a PowerPoint file. However, both opening and saving take much longer than if you convert the file to Impress. If you're prompted to select a Filter when opening files, select the type of file. If the file doesn't open correctly, try selecting Draw instead of Impress. Opening a Presentation File
Choose File > Open and navigate to the file you want, then click Open. If you don't see it, be sure All is selected in the File type list.
Note If you're opening a file that wasn't created in Impress, such as a PowerPoint presentation, save it in Impress first. A lot of the features won't be available until you do.
Opening a Draw File as a Presentation
Choose File > Open and navigate to the file you want. In the File type list, select Impress and click Open. |
