10.2. Setting Up the Environment

To run the example, you need a machine with 1 GB of free disk space and 512-MB RAM, running either Windows XP or Windows 2000 operating systems; no other operating systems are supported. In addition, you need to install the following software and components on your machine.^[*] Installation is straightforward if done in the order listed:

1. Internet Explorer (IE) 6. No other browsers are certified.

2. Sun JDK 1.4.2.05, which is available from http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html.

3. Eclipse 3.0, which is available from http://www.eclipse.org/downloads/index.php. Make sure the JDK's bin directory is on the path when starting Eclipse.

4. Oracle BPEL Process Manager 2.1.1 Standalone Edition, which is available from http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/bpel/orabpel_2.1.1_win32.exe.

5. Oracle BPEL Process Designer 0.9.10 for Eclipse, which is available from http://download.oracle.com/otn/nt/bpel/bpelz_0.9.10_win32.exe. The installer registers an Eclipse plug-in on your behalf.
