Requirements Analysis: From Business Views to Architecture

Chapter 1.  A Framework for Architecture

Implications

There are many books on the market about requirements analysis. For the most part, each describes a particular set of methods or techniques. This book instead presents the broad scope of the requirements analysis field, and the Architecture Framework provides an excellent vehicle for doing this. Any particular technique (whether covered in this book or not) can be placed somewhere in the Framework matrix. Indeed, many controversies in our industry arise from the fact that the role a technique plays is misunderstood, because its position in the Architecture Framework is misunderstood. This book should allow each technique to be intelligently compared with others in the same or different cells .
