There are a variety of ways to transform objects within a Flash document:

• The Transform tool

• The Transform panel

• Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Macintosh) on the object to be altered

• The Properties panel

• Choose Modify, Transform from the top menu bar

The Transform tool lets you free-transform any text or object in a Flash document. Free-transforming includes rotating, scaling, skewing, and distorting. The Transform tool can't distort symbols, videos , or bitmaps.

TIP

To constrain the proportions of the object being altered, Shift-click and drag the object until you achieve the desired size .

The Transform panel can also be used to alter an object (see Figure 6.2). Here you can specify a transform percentage, or type in a specific degree of rotation or skew. You can also limit the width and height by clicking the Constrain option in the panel.
