To understand better the lab objectives for this chapter, review the network topology in Figure 13-2 for configuring IPX.

After a quick review of the diagram, you can see where IPX will be configured. This book does not cover configuration of IPX DDR, which is similar to IP DDR (covered in Chapter 12, "Integrated Services Digital Network [ISDN]"). In addition, this chapter does not cover configuration of IPX on loopback interfaces.

The objectives for this chapter's lab are as follows :

• Configure R2's S0, R3's S0, and R4's S1 with IPX network number 1000.

• Configure R3's S1 and R5's S0 for IPX network number 3500.

• Configure R5's To0 for IPX network number 5000.

• Configure R4's E0 for IPX network 4000.

• Configure R1's E0 and R2's E0 for IPX network 2100.

• Configure R2's Ethernet 1 for IPX network 2000.

• Configure R3's E0 with IPX network 3000. Use the default encapsulation type.

• Configure a secondary IPX network number 3001 on R3's E0. Make the encapsulation Novell SAP.
