IIS 6: The Complete Reference

Next we’ll create a test site on this server. It’s important that you have a place to test the code before releasing it into production. The test site will reside on the same server, in the directory we just created.

  1. In the IIS MMC, highlight Web Sites.

  2. Choose Action | New | Web Site.

  3. The Web Site Creation Wizard will open. Click Next.

  4. Type in the description (beer-brewers.com test site).

  5. Click Next.

  6. In the IP addresses and Port Settings window, choose the IP address in the drop-down field.

  7. Click Next.

  8. In the Web Site Home Directory window, browse to the test site folder, and select it.

  9. Click Next twice, and then click Finish.

Repeat these steps to create the production web site.
