Mastering Resin

Overview

One of the most exciting new IDEs (Integrated Development Environments) is the Eclipse platform, an open source set of highly integrated tools, available at www.eclipse.org. The IDE is designed to be a universal tool which allows open extensible APIs. Using the extension API, plug-ins can be created to provide specific functionality to the Eclipse IDE. A company called Improve has developed an excellent, open source Resin plugin for the Eclipse IDE. This plugin, called the Improve Resin Plugin for Eclipse, offers several key features, including:

• ResinLauncher— allows the Resin server to the launched with Eclipse for debugging purposes.

• ResinProjectWizard— creates appropriate <web-app> directory structures and classpath.
