Firefox and Thunderbird Garage

Thunderbird uses a number of techniques to help block spam. The main antispam configuration is found in Thunderbird's Tools, Junk Mail Controls menu selection.

Tip

Several options can help in your fight against spam. First, in the Thunderbird Options dialog box, click Advanced on the left. Under the Privacy heading, be sure that Block Loading of Remote Images in Messages is checked. (You can optionally check Allow Remote Images If the Sender Is in My Address Book if you want.) Also make sure that Enable JavaScript in Mail Messages is not checked.

In addition to the Junk Mail Controls, Thunderbird users can configure filters that also scan for spam.
