When you are done using the S/36E and want to return to the native environment, you need to tell the system so.

If you entered the S/36E using the STRS36 command, all you need to do is execute the End System/36 (ENDS36) command. This command effectively ends your stay in the S/36E and takes you back to the native environment. This command has no parameters.

If you entered the S/36E using the STRS36PRC command, you dont have to do anything to leave the S/36E because the system takes you back to the native environment automatically when the procedure ends.

If you entered the S/36E at sign-on by having SPCENV(*36) in your user profile (or through system value QSPCENV), you cannot leave the S/36E to go to the native environment.

Tip

You will discover, however, that you dont have to leave the S/36E to execute native commands or use native applications. You can enter native commands while in the S/36E. The system will accept them and execute them correctly. For example, even though the Change User Profile (CHGUSRPRF) command is a native command, you can run it while in the S/36E.
