After you've made a selection, you can remove the contents of the selection by using the Clear command.

  1. Make a selection in the image using the selection tool of your choice. The selection marquee will appear.

  2. Click on Edit . The Edit menu will appear.

  3. Click on Clear . The selection will disappear completely from the current layer.

    Tip

    You can press the Delete key in place of steps 2 and 3.
