If there is a program that you use very often, you can have it automatically start whenever you start your computer. Let's say for example, you are always using your e-mail program. You can have it automatically start when you turn on your computer so you are ready to start sending and reading your e-mail as soon as the computer is ready.

Click on the File Manager icon in the Quick Launch Bar. File Manager will open .

Click on View . The View menu will appear.

Click on Show Hidden Files if it's not already selected. You'll know it's selected if it has a check mark beside it.

Click on the root directory . The files contained in the root directory will appear in the right pane of the window.

Double - click on the . kde directory . If you can't find the directory, repeat step 3. The window will change to show the contents of the KDE folder.

Double - click on the Autostart directory . The contents of the Autostart directory will be displayed.

Click on the Launch button . The Launch menu will appear.

Click on Programs . A list of different program categories will appear.

Click on the desired category of the program you want to Autostart.

Click and drag the desired program to the Autostart folder.

Release the mouse button . A menu will appear.

Click on Copy Here . A copy of the program will be put into the Autostart folder. Now when your computer starts, that program will be automatically loaded.
