Are there any reasons for preferring the elinks command-line web browser over the more widely known Lynx command-line Web browser?

The most important reason that elinks is covered here rather than Lynx is that Fedora Core 4 includes the former rather than the latter. In practice, both are powerful text-mode web browsers that should serve you well.

Rather than using Pine, I'd like to use the mutt command-line email program that comes with Fedora Core 4. Can you give me any pointers?

Although mutt is a powerful and flexible email client in its own right, it isn't nearly as user-friendly as Pine; details about mutt are therefore beyond the scope of this book.
