You will find that some network terminology is unavoidable when discussions of network services begin in earnest. If you are completely unfamiliar with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networkingthe type used by Linux, Unix, and most of the Internetyou should consider keeping a TCP/IP reference of some sort handy, to help you with basic concepts and unfamiliar terms.
