You can start your day with a preview of your meetings, appointments, and tasks, and a list of new e-mail messages awaiting you. Outlook Today can display your Calendar, Tasks, and Inbox so you can see what you have in store for the day. You can customize the look of Outlook Today by specifying which folders you want to display, the number of days displayed in your calendar, the number of tasks , and the layout of the Outlook Today pane. You can also set Outlook Today to open each time you start Outlook, making it your "start" or "home" page.

View Outlook Today

Click the Outlook Today button on the Advanced toolbar to display the Outlook Today page.

Did You Know?

You can display or hide the Advanced toolbar . Click the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Advanced to clear or select the option. If a check mark appears before Advanced, the toolbar is already displayed.

Customize Outlook Today

Click the Outlook Today button on the Advanced toolbar.

Click the Customize Outlook Today button on the Outlook Today page.

Set the options you want.

  • Display the Outlook Today page at startup

  • Display message folders.

  • Set the number of days in the Calendar.

  • Display and sort tasks.

  • Choose the page style.

Click the Save Changes button.
