Groove makes it easy to set program preferences all in one place by using the Preferences dialog box. You can select from six different tabsIdentities, Account, Security, Alerts, Options, and Synchronizationto specify startup and application settings, alert levels, communication policies, file and workspace restrictions, account privileges, and identity information. The Options tab allows you to set general preferences to startup Groove and related applications, like Launchbar and Workspace Explorer, and scan for viruses.

Set General Preferences

In the Launchbar, click the Options menu, and then click Preferences.

Click the Options tab.

Select or clear the Launch Groove when Windows starts up and the Integrate messenger Contacts check boxes.

Click an application (Launchbar or Workspace Explorer by default), and then click Settings, select start up and display options, and then click OK.

Select or clear the Discard Groove messages from unknown contacts check box.

Select or clear the Send e-mail invitations using Microsoft Outlook check box.

Specify the online presence settings you want.

Select or clear the Scan incoming and outgoing files for viruses check box.

Click OK.

You can set workspace properties. In the workspace, click View Workspace Properties under Command Tasks, click the tab and select the properties you want, and then click OK.
