The applications of agent technology are quite large. Agents offer another paradigm for the development of distributed software outside of the development of intelligent applications. A very good resource for agent applications is the UMBC Agent Web page and the BotSpot Web page (see the Resources section). Table 11.2 provides a small sample of current agent applications.
