Nothing's better than adding that certain plug-in that has other editors wonder how you created a certain effect or look to your videos . The following list offers some plug-ins for Avid systems. Not all the plug-ins are for Avid Xpress Pro. Some of these plug-ins depend on which operating system you're working on.

• www.3prong.com. This company offers plug-ins that vary from color correcting to waveform and vectorscope plug-ins.

• www.genarts.com. This company created the popular Sapphire plug-ins. Although pricey, their plug-ins are certainly some of the best available. You can even test run the plug-ins with watermarks embedded in the effects.

• www.inscriber.com. Recognized as a leader in titles and graphics, Inscriber has created some pretty impressive plug-ins for Avid. If you want to take your titles to a new level, consider the Inscriber plug-in.

• www.profoundeffects.com. Probably some of my favorite plug-ins were invented by Profound Effects. Their Elastic Gasket plug-in adds a whole new world of possibilities to effects. This plug-in opens the entire world of After Effects plug-ins. They even have a screen shot of an After Effects plug-in displayed in the Effect Editor of an Avid System on the website. If you own a ton of After Effects plug-ins, this plug-in alone will transform the way you edit.

• www. ultimatte .com. The leader in keying and matting technology. Not happy with that chroma key? Try an ultimate plug-in.

• www.borisfx.com. Need to create a great composite? Boris FX probably has the plug-in that's right for you. They offer a variety of options, including standalone software for compositing.

• www.pluginz.com. Need a stop source for finding what's new when it comes to plug-ins? Visit this site to find out about plug-ins for all kinds of software.
