Understanding Thin Client/Server Computing (Strategic Technology Series)
How can a personal computer or a high-end workstation even be considered a thin-client device? Well, such computers are not necessarily dedicated thin-client/server hardware devices, but they can certainly run thin-client/server software such as the ICA client. You re probably familiar with these devices. They might include (but are not limited to) the following specifications:
- Intel Pentium CPU (or equivalent)
- 16 MB of RAM
- 1-GB hard drive
- 3.5-inch disk drive
- CD-ROM drive
- Sound card
- Network card
- Modem
- Monitor
- Operating system consisting of Microsoft Windows NT Workstation, Windows 95, Windows 3.x, or MS-DOS
