Fixing Windows XP Annoyances

Software Depository[1]

[1] After hours, slip software through slot in door.

Throughout this book, various add-on software is mentioned in the solutions to various problems. Now, wherever possible, I try not to make a particular solution absolutely dependent on add-on software after all, I'd rather you carry around this book than a CD packed with useless, obsolete shareware.

In some cases, of course, a solution involving add-on software is either the preferable or only recourse. Fortunately, nearly all the software necessary to fill the holes in Windows as discussed in this book is freely available on the Internet. However, instead of including a list of web addresses here, all the software mentioned in this book, as well as software yet to be discovered, can be found at http://www.annoyances.org/.

In addition to links for the downloadable software, you'll also find updates and additional information for the book. Also available is Creative Element Power Tools, a collection of tools specifically designed to help solve some of the Annoyances discussed in this book. You can download it from http://www.creativelement.com/powertools/.
