iMovie HD: MUTING YOUR CAMERA'S AUDIO TRACK

If you're putting a music track behind your movie and you don't want to hear the audio that was captured by your digital camcorder's built-in microphone, you can turn off the audio track for your camera clips. Just go to the Timeline Viewer, and at the far-right side, uncheck the top checkbox.
