This chapter took you into the guts of Honeyd. You learned about Honeyd’s command-line runtime options and how to use a batch file to make your life easier. The majority of the chapter covered creating and configuring Honeyd’s configuration file and gave many detailed examples. You should be able to copy (or download from http://www.apress.com) these templates and set up a realistic-looking, low-interaction honeypot. Chapter 7 will cover the service scripts that you will need to complete your Honeyd honeypot installation.
