Suppose that after you created your text, you see a problem. Perhaps you misspelled a word, or you want a different font or style. Depending on the text type that you created, you might be able to edit the object.

Modifying Vector Text

You can only modify the text on vector text type objects, not selection or floating text types.

Resizing a Text Object

You can only resize vector type text. Resize vector text in the same manner that you resize any vector object.

Changing Floating and Selection Styles

Although you cannot easily edit the font size or the actual text on floating or selection type text, you can edit the style with the Paint Brush tool.

Moving Text

You can move all three text typesbut with totally different results.

Moving Vector Text

Move vector text in the same manner as moving any vector object.

Moving Floating Text

Floating text is raster-style text, but you can move it anywhere on the image as long as the text is still floating and is on a raster layer, not a background layer.

NOTE

If the floating text is on a background layer, Paint Shop Pro prompts you to promote it to a full raster layer.

Moving Selection Text

Moving selection text is quite different from moving the other two types of text. When you move selection text, the fill color remains underneath the moved selection. In fact, moving selection text just a tiny bit can give the effect of 3D text.

NOTE

To deselect the selection text, choose Selections, Select None or press Ctrl+D.
