Linux Application Development For The Enterprise (Charles River Media Programming)

 < Day Day Up >

The installation of the programs is very simple. The Kylix applications may be copied from the CD-ROM to the directory of choice, and then the project files may be opened using the Kylix 3 IDE. The Java applications are built as JBuilder8 projects, and they may also be opened by JBuilder9. The directory structure is maintained by the project files, and the JBuilder IDE is capable of opening these files. The applications may be copied from the CD-ROM into the directory of choice. The directory name should not include spaces.

The Java/JSP/J2EE examples may also be tested on other Java development platforms such as IBM WebSphere Studio and IBM WebSphere Application Server. However, since the application project files are created using Borland Enterprise Server, readers may have to create new project files in the platform of their choice and then import the Java program source files from the CD-ROM per the directions provided in that platform.
