VisualAge for Java is available in three editions: Enterprise, Professional, and Entry. Each version is designed to meet a different level of developmental need.

VisualAge for Java, Entry Edition

The Entry edition is suitable for learning purposes and for building small projects of up to 500 classes. This edition is available as a free download from the VisualAge developer domain at www.ibm.com/software/vadd.

VisualAge for Java, Professional Edition

The Professional edition is a complete Java development environment that includes access to JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) for building full-function Java applications.

VisualAge for Java, Enterprise Edition

The Enterprise edition is designed for building enterprise Java applications. It has the same features as the Professional edition, as well as support for developers who work in large teams, develop high-performance or heterogeneous applications, or need to connect Java programs to existing enterprise systems.
