Interpreting the CMMI (R): A Process Improvement Approach, Second Edition
Summary
There are four phases of process improvement:
-
Set Up
-
Design
-
Pilot
-
Implement
These four phases can be accomplished in as many ways as there are organizations. However, no matter which approach you take, or even which model you choose, planning the effort and tracking the effects of the effort are paramount. Process improvement must be planned and tracked as if it were a project. If not, slippage will occur, and focus and momentum will be lost.
