Observing the User Experience: A Practitioners Guide to User Research
ATL Server provides a number of common counters out of the box. These counters are designed to give you an example of items that are very useful to monitor with a system such as Perfmon.
The ATL Server development team tried to provide many of the common examples of counters they thought Web application developers might find useful, but it s always possible to add your own custom counters, as you ll see in the next section. Here s a list of the counters provided:
-
Active Threads
-
Average Response Time
-
Current Queued Requests
-
Maximum Queued Requests
-
Server Failed Requests
-
Server Requests per Second
-
Server Total Requests
| Note | If you use the same ISAPI DLL for multiple applications (i.e., the same filename and the same directory), then your Perfmon statistics will be a combination of statistics for both applications. To avoid this, simply use a differently named ISAPI DLL or a different directory for the ISAPI DLL for each application you want to monitor. |
