Appendix A. The How To Do It Reference Guide
This appendix refers to every "How To" section in this book, offering you a quick guide to finding out how an operation can be done. Each "How To" section has been divided into a category and placed in a corresponding table in this appendix. There are 10 tables (categories) in all. Here's a look at what you can find in each category:
-
Setup Operations. This holds operations that relate to configuration procedures, setting up a project or your environment inside a project.
-
Display Information. This holds operations that explain how to display windows , panels, and certain dialog boxes within Cubase or zooming specific operations.
-
Project and Transport Specific Operations. These operations relate to project tasks that are not related to audio or MIDI, such as Marker and Folder tracks and transport operations.
-
Non Object-Specific Operations. These are editing procedures within a project that are not specifically related to MIDI or audio alone, such as quantizing functions and options that might be found in the Edit menu that don't relate to a specific type of object (event or part) in a project.
-
Recording Operations. This holds operations that directly affect the recording process and the recording operations themselves .
-
Audio Editing Operations. This holds all audio specific editing operations.
-
MIDI Editing Operations. This holds all MIDI specific editing operations.
-
Mixing Operations. This holds operations that directly affect the mixing process and the mixing operations themselves.
-
Automation Operations. This holds operations that directly affect the automation process and the automation operations themselves.
-
Score Operations. This holds operations that directly affect the score process and the score layout operations themselves.
Each header contains a table with columns corresponding to the following information:
-
How To column. Represents the actual task, function, or option title as it appears in the book.
-
Chapter Number column. Tells you in which chapter this can be found.
-
Heading Title column. Tells you in which section of the chapter this can be found.
-
Page Number column. Tells you the page number on which you will find the corresponding "How To" steps.
