Securing Your Business with Cisco ASA and PIX Firewalls

CSA is a key product in implementing full defense in depth in your business or enterprise. As stated previously, it is the last step of protection to secure your hosts and servers from all attacks. Note that Cisco recommends that CSA be run in conjunction with antivirus software. The reasons for this are twofold:

• Additional defense in depth The key to a successful network defense is defense in depth. Antivirus software provides additional endpoint protection.

• Malware cleanup CSA stops known viruses from doing damage and can keep unknown worms from being installed on your system. In conjunction, antivirus software cleans up known viruses by deleting them from your system.
