To ColdFusion users who are new to application development and who don't have some type of programming background, complex data types, such as arrays and structures, can be a daunting topic to learn. Hopefully, this chapter has exposed the simplicity of these variables and has enabled you to see how you can easily incorporate them into your own applications.

Each variable type discussed has associated ColdFusion functions to enable you to create, manipulate, and delete variables. Remember that the CFDUMP tag is your friend and that you can use it liberally within your application to help with code debugging and troubleshooting.
