Task notes can manage most of the details you will want to add to a task. However, if you want to add information from an online source, such as a web page, you can place a hyperlink right next to the task.

  1. Select the Send courseware to O'Reilly task.

    Let's add a link to the O'Reilly web site for this task.

  2. Click the Insert Hyperlink button on the Standard toolbar.

    The Insert Hyperlink dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 2-16.

    Enter descriptive text for the link and the address of the page you want to link to.

  3. Type Go to site for more info in the Text to display: text box.

    This text will appear as the screen tip.

  4. Type http://www.oreilly.com in the Address: text box. Click OK.

    The Insert Hyperlink dialog box closes. Notice that a hyperlink indicator now appears next to the task. Hold your cursor over the indicator to view the descriptive text you entered (as shown in Figure 2-18), or click the indicator to open the web page in your browser.

QUICK REFERENCE

TO INSERT A HYPERLINK:

  1. CLICK THE INSERT HYPERLINK BUTTON ON THE STANDARD TOOLBAR.

    OR...

    RIGHT-CLICK THE TASK AND SELECT HYPERLINK FROM THE SHORTCUT MENU.

  2. ENTER DESCRIPTIVE TEXT IN THE TEXT TO DISPLAY TEXT BOX.

  3. ENTER THE WEB ADDRESS IN THE ADDRESS TEXT BOX.

  4. CLICK OK.
