22. Add Tracks to an Advanced DVD Music Disc Project

Creating a DVD music disc with menus and photos is definitely one of the fun aspects of advancing technology. It goes without saying that a DVD can hold numerous music files of any type. You can sort your music into menus of your own creation or use smart menus that sort them by genre, album, artist, and so forth.

The first step in creating a DVD music disc is to add files to your project. You can add files by themselves or you can drop entire folders into your project.

Select Audio

Select Audio in the project pane to open the Audio menu.

Select Advanced Projects

After the Audio menu is displayed, select Advanced Projects from the Audio menu to bring up Music Disc Creator.

Select DVD Music Disc

From within Music Disc Creator, select DVD Music Disc to start a DVD music disc project.

Select Disc Size

After you have started a new disc project, choose the size of the recordable disc you will be using from the drop-down menu labeled Disc Size. The size of the disc is usually printed somewhere on the disc itself.

Selecting the correct size of your disc ensures that the Estimated Free Space status bar is correct so you do not add more files to the project than can actually fit on the disc.

Add Track Lists

When a new DVD music disc project is created, there is only one track list that exists. You can add new track lists by selecting an existing track list and clicking on the New Track List button in the taskbar.

Name Track Lists

After you have added the number of track lists you think that you will need, give them meaningful names by selecting them and clicking on the Rename button in the taskbar.

Click Add Audio Tracks, Or...

After the track lists are in place, you can add audio files to them by selecting a track list and clicking the Add Audio Tracks button to bring up Media Manager. Use Media Manager to add files or folders.

...Click Import from CD/DVD, Or...

You can also import tracks directly from a CD or DVD by clicking on Import from CD/DVD.

...Drag and Drop Audio Files or Folders

You can also simply drag and drop audio files from Windows Explorer (or any open window) into track lists.

Tip

If you add folders instead of files when you are adding audio tracks, those folders and any subfolders are added as track lists and all audio files contained in each folder appear in each matching track list.
