26. Change the DVD Music Disc Project Settings
Change the DVD Music Disc Project Settings
Before you are ready to burn your DVD music disc, you want to make sure the project settings are correct. This ensures that the DVD is the quality that you want and that it will play on your machine. Select Project Settings from the taskbar to bring up the DVD Music Disc Project Settings dialog.
From within the DVD Music Disc Project Settings dialog, type in a meaningful name for the DVD music disc.
After you have named the music disc, select the audio format for the DVD music disc from the Audio Format drop-down list. The best option to use is Dolby Digital. Dolby Digital is a compressed format that saves space; however, the quality is virtually indistinguishable from audio CD quality, even on home theater systems. The highest quality setting is PCM, which is the standard format for audio CDs. PCM is not compressed and takes a great deal more space on the disc. MPEG-1, Layer 2 is a compressed file format that gives your project the same size as Dolby Digital, but the quality is inferior. Only use MPEG audio if you need to save space and you know that your DVD playback device does not support Dolby Digital.
After you have set the audio format, select the video standard for the DVD music disc from the Video Standard drop-down list. NTSC is used in North America; PAL is used everywhere else.
When you have set the video standard, check the Auto-play check box if you want the DVD to automatically play the first music track when it is inserted into the player instead of defaulting to the disc's main menu.
After you have finished setting the project options, click the OK button to apply them. Tip Look at the Estimated Free Space status bar to determine if your project will fit on your blank disc.
