I mourn the passing of Alltronics' Zanker Road retail store (a wonderland of peculiar surplus electronic and mechanical parts, where I spent a lot of time and money in the late 1980s) but their paper and online catalogs are still worth seeing. I cite them here because they carry a large variety of microwave-compatible coaxial connectors, including SMA, TNC, and most varieties of N connectors. They do not, unfortunately, carry any of the reverse polarity connectors. They have a $15 minimum order and a secure Web site.

This subsidiary of computer catalog dealer Micro Warehouse carries a good selection of Wi-Fi and wired network hardware, routers, switches, hubs, tools, network cabling (including CAT 5 patch and crossover cables) uninterruptible power supplies, software, and various networking exotica. I've used them for years and they have been extremely reliable.

FAB is probably the best single source of Wi-Fi antennas, connectors, and cables going. They carry pigtails in various lengths, with N male connectors on one end and all the major (peculiar) Wi-Fi RF connectors on the other. They carry many antennas for Wi-Fi work, including a mini mag-mount vertical for netstumbling, ceiling antennas for cube-farm installations, and outdoor antennas for point-to-point work, up to a 24 dBi parabolic. Loose reverse-polarity connectors are available, as well as low-loss microwave coax by the roll or by the foot. The have a $10 minimum shipping charge and a secure Web site.
