Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips
[ LiB ] |
Flash isn't perfect, and from time to time you can run into a problem that doesn't seem fixable. Maybe the panels keep disappearing, or you get weird error messages from time to time. Before you decide to give up and reinstall Flash out of frustration, try one more thing. Delete your user preferences. You can find the folder at the location that corresponds to your operating system and delete it.
Windows 2000/XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration
Windows 98/ME:
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Macromedia\Flash MX 2004\en\Configuration
Mac OS X:
<Macintosh HD>:<username>:Library:Application Support:Macromedia: Flash MX 2004:en:Configuration
...where username is the user's short login name.
The next time you start Flash, it will rebuild your preferences and may fix whatever problem you were having. If that doesn't work, then you guessed it... Reinstall time!
