Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips

You may have noticed that when you have several components (primarily those bundled with Flash or found on MM Exchange) in any given Timeline, Flash can begin to slow down. This is due to the "Enable Live Preview" setting, which is enabled by default. When enabled, you can view how a component will look when published in the authoring environment. Although this can be useful at times, it is not always necessary, and because having it enabled requires rendering power for every component visible on your Stage, it can slow down or annoy you on even the most powerful machines. Of course to remedy the situation, simply uncheck the option by looking under Control on the menu bar. Now your components will display quickly in a draft fashion. Although this may not be the most visually appealing view, you can always switch the option back on when you need to.
