It's an Exact Science
Careful designers who work vigorously to make sure every object's size is precise and every text field is aligned are never satisfied with positioning or sizing things with the mouse. I can't say I blame them. Sometimes there's just no substitute for perfection.
Select any object or shape on your stage and look to the Property inspector. You'll always find four properties that control the object's size and position on the stage (Width, Height, X position, Y position). You can set the exact coordinates of a text block or make sure that your logo is precisely 50x50 pixels by entering the values in these four fields.
There's even a little lock icon that, when clicked, will ensure that the Width and Height aspect ratio remains constant. Geez, the Property inspector is just so powerful, dontcha think?
