Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips

With the capability to create text, movie clips, graphics, sounds, buttons, actions, and more, Flash documents can get very complex in no time. When it seems like you're losing track of things, or when you just want an outline or overview of its structure, you can use the Movie Explorer (ALT-F3 or Window > Other Panels > Movie Explorer in the menu bar, or OPT-F3 on the Mac). Once open, the Movie Explorer will show you every element of your document in a flexible and easy to understand element tree. You will have the option to jump to any symbol, action, or any other elements with a simple double-click. Also, if you have specific interests such as finding a rogue empty text field, you can filter what is shown by activating the appropriate filters along the top of the Movie Explorer panel. You'll also notice a Find box that enables you to search your entire Flash document for particular keywords.
