Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips

In the recent past (Flash MX), the only way to find things in your Flash document was to open the Movie Explorer panel and try to locate it in the tree. For those of you who tried this, you quickly learned that it was anything but desirable. At last Macromedia has answered our cries of despair. Pressing CTRL-F (or CMD-F on the Mac) in Flash MX 2004 will spawn a new and powerful Find and Replace window. In this window, you can search an entire document for everything from Text to Colors. The search will look through your Stage on all keyframes, as well as in your scripts for the terms you specify. When you find the item, you can jump to it and edit it on your own, or you can let Flash do a Replace All to fix a global mistake. I think this may soon become my favorite new feature.
