Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips

I'm sure you noticed that by default the main Timeline of your Flash movie will loop over and over again until you do something to stop it. The same is true for any movie clip symbol's Timeline. I don't know about you, but I want my clips to play one time and stop. If you're like me and all this looping drives you loopy, then try this. Go to the Timeline you want to keep from looping. Create a new layer and name it actions if you don't already have one there. Go to the very last frame of that Timeline and create a keyframe on your actions layer. Open the Actions panel (F9) and select that last keyframe. Type stop(); into the Actions panel. Now when this Timeline is being played back, it will reach the end, find your simple stop action, and do just that.
