Button Actions Worked in the Old Days, So What's Up?
In the past, designers would often place frame actions on a button's timeline. While this method worked, it was certainly not recommended. Don't feel bad if you did (or do) this because I did it myself long ago. If you're doing it now, stop because Flash MX 2004 no longer allows it. In fact, if you select a frame on a button's timeline and then go to the Actions panel, you'll find a message instead of a place to put an action. The proper place to put a button action is on the instance itself. Select a button instance and place your actions there. Dontcha' hate it when they start enforcing rules that were never enforced before?
