Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips

A growing number of designers are starting to use pixel fonts. You know these fonts, right? Like when you go to a site and the text is small and crystal clear? These are pixel fonts, and they can be found at sites such as www.orgdot.com, www.atomicmedia.net, and www.fontsforflash.com. I'll admit, I like these things too, and you'll see them in a lot of my designs (if you care to look). You may have used these fonts and found that they turn out blurry for you. Well, that's because these little guys have to be used a certain way.

When using a pixel font, look at the Property inspector to make sure you have positioned the text field on a whole pixel. This means that instead of putting something at X: 1.4, Y: 5.8, you'd put it at X: 1.0, Y: 6.0. You must also make sure that if you put text in a symbol, the symbol also lands on a whole pixel.
