Macromedia Flash MX 2004 Killer Tips
[ LiB ] |
If you work with Flash long enough, you're bound to run into some problems with the plug-in. In general, plug-ins are not perfect, and Flash is no different. The frustrating thing is that sometimes it seems as though these problems won't go away. If you're like me where friends and family constantly call you (because your middle name is "tech-support"), then you've likely run into this one... "Suddenly, when I go to a Flash web site, the plug-in is not detected or the content doesn't play at all. I have the latest version. What do I do?" Well, here's a quick fix for the problems you just can't figure out (with the plug-in, that is).
Have the person go to the following: www.macromedia.com/support/flash/ts/documents/remove_player.htm
Macromedia has provided an uninstaller to safely remove the Flash plug-in. They even provide instructions on how to do it manually if the uninstaller doesn't work. Usually after removing the player and then re-installing it from scratch, everything returns to normal. Not many people know about this one, so keep it on the down low!
