Absolute Beginners Guide to Microsoft Office OneNote 2003

If you don't want to insert actual Web content into OneNote, you can insert just the URL for the Web site using one of two methods.

If you have a dial-up connection and aren't connected to the Internet, Internet Explorer will launch your dial-up connection to connect to the Internet.

The first method is a standard copy and paste as follows:

  1. Click once in the address bar of your Web browser to highlight the Web address.

  2. Choose Edit, Copy.

  3. Switch to OneNote.

  4. Click where you want the pasted URL to appear, and choose Edit, Paste.

In addition to copying and pasting a Web address, you can also drag the Web address into OneNote:

  1. While in Internet Explorer, position your mouse on the E icon in the address bar.

  2. Click and drag the entire address to the OneNote taskbar button.

  3. When OneNote becomes the active window, release your mouse button where you want the pasted URL to appear.

If you attempt to insert content from a Web browser other than Internet Explorer, the address of the Web site won't automatically be inserted in OneNote. You'll need to copy and paste the address or drag it into OneNote from the browser.
