4.6 Licensing Requirements

The licensing requirements or License Product Authorization Keys (License PAKs) information for implementing Tru64 UNIX and TruCluster Server are rather simple.

• For Tru64 UNIX, the following license PAKs are required:

  • OSF-BASE

  • OSF-USR

  • OSF-SVR (depending on the hardware)

• TruCluster Server only requires the TCS-UA license PAK.

• Additional licenses that may be required, depending on implementation, are:

  • AdvFS Advanced Utilities (ADVFS-UTILITIES)

  • Logical Storage Manager License (LSM-OA)

Software licensing on a cluster is done on a per node basis so be prepared to have separate license PAKs for each cluster node. We recommend that you make a copy of your original license PAKs and store the originals in a very safe and secure place. Make sure that each cluster node's license PAKs are available prior to the installation of Tru64 UNIX and TruCluster Server so that they can be used when needed.
