| The OfficeLinks toolbar button shortcuts the process of exporting tables or query result sets to Word tables and Excel worksheets. Select the table or query to save in the Database window, open the OfficeLinks list, and then do either of the following: Select Publish It with Microsoft Word to generate a Rich Text Format (.rtf) filenamed for the table or query and display the table in Word (see Figure 8.59). The .rtf format embeds formatting instructions and data for text, images, and other objects. Most word processing applications, including WordPad, can open .rtf files. Figure 8.59. Choosing Publish It with Microsoft Word exports a .rtf file of the selected table or query object and opens Word. Select Analyze It with Microsoft Excel to generate a workbook (.xls) filenamed for the table or query and display worksheet in Word (see Figure 8.60). Figure 8.60. Choosing Analyze It with Microsoft Excel exports an .xls file of the object and opens the worksheet in Excel. In both cases, Access stores the exported files in your My Documents folder. The process doesn't permit you to specify the location of the exported files. |
