The endpoint for a request message in the ASP.NET pipeline. It processes the request and returns a response.

HTTP module

An intermediary request-and-response processing unit in the ASP.NET pipeline. HTTP modules are the .NET equivalent of ISAPI filters.

An Internet standard for creating Web pages.

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

An Internet standard transport protocol. Currently used for sending almost all Web service requests and responses across the Internet.
