The Dreamweaver MX 2004 installation is straightforward. It requires a Windows platform and uses a standard Windows installer.

During the installation you will be prompted for information:

• Installation location.

• Files to associate Dreamweaver with (for ColdFusion development you'll want to make sure that .cfm and .cfc are selected).

• Activation serial number. Activation requires that you be connected to the Internet. Without activation, Dreamweaver will run as a trial edition.

Once installed, program Start menu options will be created.
