BLACKBERRY BASICS:

  • There are some things you need to do to set up your handheld when you first get itsuch as setting the time, entering the owner information, and more.

  • You can set up security settings and passwords to keep the information on your handheld secure.

  • Profiles are used to control how the handheld alerts you when you need to be notified of something.

  • The Auto Off feature should be used to automatically turn your device off when you do not need it to save battery life.

Now that the Desktop Manager is set up and you have email delivery working, it is time to set it up in the way that best suits you and the way you will be using the BlackBerry handheld.

The BlackBerry handheld software has many ways to personalize your BlackBerry, ranging from utility features such as password protection to cosmetic features such as the order in which the main screen icons appear.
